Mid-Summer Update

Please read the following updates/reminders for the 2nd half of the summer marching band season.

The Lake Trip

Following rehearsal tomorrow (8/6/25 from 8am-12pm) students will eat their packed lunch, load the bus, and spend the afternoon and evening at The Lake Campground in Norton. We will return to CHS at approximately 8:10pm.

Students – please remember to bring your lunch tomorrow. You are not permitted to leave the school for lunch. Finally, the permission slip must be signed before students will be permitted on the bus for the event.

Bring a swim suit, towel, and a change of clothes in addition to everything else you need for tomorrow’s practice.

Parents not already volunteering/other students/alumni are not welcome on this event as there is a charge for entrance to the park and it is a private park.

Football Scrimmage

The band has been asked to be a part of a parade that is taking place prior to the football scrimmage on 8/8/25. This is a volunteer event and not required.

Schedule:

  • Meet at band room: 3:50pm
  • Go to church: 3:55pm
  • Play and eat food: 4:10pm
  • Parade from Community Church of Portage Lakes: 5:10pm
  • End at CHS Stadium: 5:20pm
  • Released: 5:35pm

Summer Preview Performance

The Summer Preview performance will take place on Thursday (8/14/25) at 6:00pm. The event is free and open to all. Come see what the students of the 2025 CHSMB have been working on over the last couple weeks!

The band students will not be required to stay, but the football team will play a pre-season scrimmage at 7pm following our performance. Students are encouraged to stay and support the team!

Picture Day/Picture Forms

Picture day is Tuesday (8/12/25) during the morning rehearsal time. Students will report to practice at 8am as normal and should be finished by our normal 12pm. Our picture time slot is 11:05am. Students will need to bring the Dinkles (marching band shoes), knee high black socks without any markings, athletics shorts, and a t-shirt. The rest of the uniform will be provided.

I was told I will receive a link for ordering pictures tomorrow (8/6/2025). The order form will be online this year.

Stadium Banners

If anyone would like to stadium banner, they will need to bring the order form (attached below) and payment to give to the football moms who are organizing the stadium banners this year.

Band Fees

Band Fees were sent out last week to the first parent email listed on Final Forms. Please check emails to see if you have the invoice. A paper copy will also be sent home with students. Please let Andrew Menegos (treasurer@coventrybands.com, treasurer of the Coventry Band Parent Association) know if you need help with the band fee invoice.

After School Rehearsals

After school rehearsals begin on 8/18/2025. Students don’t begin school until the 20th or 21st depending, but our after school schedule begins at the beginning of the week on 8/18/25. After school rehearsals are from 2:30pm-5:00pm.
