About

The Coventry High School Bands serve approximately 150 students in grades 9 – 12. The High School Band Program at Coventry consists of the Coventry High School Symphonic Band, the Coventry High School Concert Band, the Coventry High School Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Steel Drum Band, and DaFunk’d. The music department strives for excellence in all areas of its performing ensembles and stresses the importance of learning and enjoying music as part of a well rounded education.

The Marching Comets begin rehearsals in July and rehearse throughout the fall two times a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). In addition to performing each Friday night, the CHS Marching Band performs at various band competitions throughout the state and travels to places like Walt Disney World (Florida) and New York City (New York).

The Concert Program at Coventry consists of the Symphonic Band and Concert Band. Members of these ensembles perform in OMEA Adjudicated Events such as OMEA Large Group and OMEA Solo and Ensemble.

Over the past few years, we have been excited to watch our Middle School Bands increase in size. Students in the 7th and 8th grade bands perform at Junior High Solo and Ensemble and OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Event. Members of our 8th Grade Band get to experience marching with the Coventry High School Marching Band at a home football game.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming performances!
