Week 5 – Massillon Band Show (9/20/2025)

Parking

Parking info shared by Massillon:

  • General parking for spectators will be in the lower west stadium parking lot, the north parking lot, the east elementary parking lot, the east Band field parking lot, along the road of Stadium Park, or any other side street/nearby parking lot that they can find.
    • FYI = the east Band field lot can be found more easily by using the following address in your GPS: 420 20th St., Massillon, OH 44646
  • Once parked, spectators will use the west entrance (main gate, front of the stadium) as the only entrance.
  • All spectator vehicles in the lower west parking lot should exit using Hess Blvd. And not pass the stadium. (drive up Paul E Brown Dr. to Hess Blvd/16th st.)
  • Handicapped parking: there are limited handicapped parking spaces in the front of the stadium and also in front of the high school. They are first come, first serve served.

Tickets

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office located at the stadium. Tickets go on sale at 5:00pm. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, and students and children aged 12 and under are admitted free of charge.

Note for Students

Students – You will have the opportunity to go to the concession stand following our performance. Make sure to bring money if you plan to eat then. Food will not be provided otherwise, so you should plan to eat before our call time and/or at the concession stand.

Coventry Band’s Schedule

  • CHS Door 16 Opens 3:40pm
  • Call Time for students – 4:05pm
  • Warm-up – 4:15pm
    • Students should be in seats with instruments and ready to warm-up
  • Stuff to Trailer – 4:40pm
    • See the list below for details
  • Load Trailer/Put Uniform On – 4:45pm
  • Uniform Inspection in seats in Band room – 5:10pm
  • Load Bus – 5:20pm
  • Depart CHS – 5:25pm
  • Arrive and Unpack at Massillon – 6:00pm
  • March In – 6:15pm
  • In seat to drop off equipment and use restrooms – 6:20pm
  • Warm-up – 6:40pm
  • Show Begins – 7:00pm
    • We will watch the Massillon Pregame from the endzone/sideline
  • Coventry Performance (Approx.) – 7:10pm
  • Arrive back to CHS (Approx.) – 10:30pm

“Stuff” that Goes to the Trailer

  • Instruments – in case with all needed items
  • Guard bags
  • Cooler full of water and ice – Chaperones
  • Med Bag – chaperones (this should travel with us on bus 1)
  • Plumes – chaperones
  • Duffle Bags (which contains rain coat and flip folder/lyre)

Uniform

This includes: Dinkles (they must be clean), black socks (calf/knee high without other markings), athletic shorts, 2025 Coventry Band T-shirt, Uniform Pants, Uniform Jacket, shako (hat), and black gloves (will be provided with uniform). Additionally, your hair should be neatly up so that it can fit inside the shako. If you’re not sure, ask a veteran member. Piercings need to be removed, replaced with something clear, or covered with a skin colored bandage. Bandanas, sunglasses, etc. are not a part of the uniform and points and/or 3rd quarter free time will be lost for not wearing the correct uniform. Once your uniform is on, it is to stay completely on unless a director tells you otherwise, this includes the shako and gloves.

Guard, Mr. Ballog will communicate with you about uniform expectations.

Grade/3rd Quarter Freedom/Performance Eligibility

You do received a grade for marching band performances and rehearsals. Your grade is a reflection of you being present, on time, in the correct uniform, having all required things for the performance/rehearsal, and having your music checked off. Failure to do any of those things will result in the loss of points for your grade, 3rd quarter freedom privileges, and/or performance eligibility.
