Mid-Summer Update

Please read the following updates/reminders for the 2nd half of the summer marching band season.

The Lake Trip

Following rehearsal tomorrow (8/7/24 from 8am-12pm) students will eat their packed lunch, load the bus, and spend the afternoon and evening at The Lake Campground in Norton. We will return to CMS at approximately 8:15pm.

Students – please remember to bring your lunch tomorrow and remember… you are not permitted to leave the middle school for lunch. Finally, the permission slip must be signed before students will be permitted on the bus for the event.

Summer Preview

The Summer Preview performance will take place this Friday (8/9/24) at 6:30pm. We will begin right at 6:30pm. The event is free and open to all. Come see what the students of the 2024 CHSMB have been working on over the last couple weeks!

The band students will not be required to stay, but the football team will play Akron North in a pre-season scrimmage following our Summer Preview at 7:30pm. Feel free to stay and support the team!

Picture Day/Picture Forms

Picture day is next Monday (8/12/24) during the morning rehearsal time. Students will report to practice at 8am as normal and should be finished by our normal 12pm. Students will need to bring the Dinkles (marching band shoes), knee high black socks without any markings, athletics shorts, and a t-shirt. The rest of the uniform will be provided.

Picture Order forms were sent home with students today (8/6/24). Students will need to bring the order form and payment with them on picture day. Order forms and payment will not be accepted by band staff members.

Seniors – If you would like your banner on Portage Lakes Dr. for the season, please make sure to order the banner on the order form and include payment in the order form.

Band Fees

Band Fees were sent out last week to the first parent email listed on Final Forms. Please check emails to see if you have the invoice. A paper copy will also be sent home with students Thursday. Please let Mr. Cummings know if you need help with the Band Fee Invoice.

After School Rehearsals

After school rehearsals begin on 8/19/2024. Students don’t begin school until the 21st or 22nd depending, but our after school schedule begins at the beginning of the week on 8/19/24. After school rehearsals are from 2:30pm-5:00pm.
