As we approach next week and band camp 2021, I wanted to take a moment and give you some updates/reminders.
During the week of July 26th-July 30th the band will rehearse from 8:00am-4:00pm each day. We will rehearse in the morning from 8:00am-11:30am, lunch will be from 11:30am-12:30pm, and will rehearse again from 12:30pm-4:00pm. These times are subject to change.
To access the band schedule for the remainder of the summer and the season, please see the calendar under the “Schedule of Events” page. I would recommend you save this calendar to your personal digital calendar by selecting the “+” symbol at the bottom right corner of the calendar on the page linked above.
Lunch will be provided for the students each day throughout camp. Here is the menu for the week:
- Monday – Burgers and Dogs
- Tuesday – Taco Bar
- Wednesday – Pasta Bar
- Thursday – Baked Potato Bar
- Friday – Pizza
Fresh fruit, salad, and dessert will be provided with lunch each day
If you have not already, please join the appropriate Remind group ASAP. Notice there are separate groups for students and parents due to a participant limit in Remind groups. I plan on using Remind as my primary method of communication for the time being. With that said, I will try to get you the information that you need in the time you need it without sending out a ton of messages.

Seniors and Juniors will be fit into their uniform on Monday, August 2nd 2021 right after band rehearsal at 12:00pm.
Sophomores and Freshman will be fit into the uniform on Tuesday, August 3rd 2021 right after band rehearsal at 12:00pm.
Students are required to be at this fitting and should plan to wear the correct attire that they would wear under their band uniform. This means non-bulky pants or clothes. Athletics shorts and a t-shirt are best and recommended.
Students are required to purchase their Black Marching Band Shoes from Taylor Band. Taylor Band knows the correct style of shoe that is needed, and will help you get them ordered. I don’t know the exact price, but generally they are around $35. All students are required to have a pair, and if you have a pair in good condition from a previous season, you may use those.
You should plan on getting your shoes ordered ASAP so you can have them for pictures on August 11th 2021.
Parent and Community Performance
There will be a Coventry Band parent/community performance on the evening of Friday, August 6th 2021. The band’s performance will begin at 6:30pm in the Stadium. Prior to the band’s performance, the booster organization is planning a cookout for band families and the community on a donation basis.

Absence Request Form
Due to many people needing to miss band here or there because of other commitments, I have made a Google Form that anyone who is missing band, for any reason, should fill out this Google Form. This will allow me to better keep track of who I should expect to be absent and when. Everyone should fill this form out for all absences, even if they have already talked with me in person about the absence.
With that said, everyone’s attendance at band rehearsal is very important! On our band team, everyone has a spot, and missing people makes it difficult to effectively rehearse/practice.
