*Holiday Concert and Rehearsal Updates*

Happy Friday the 13th:

I am reaching out to you with GOOD NEWS! Even with all of the changes in schooling, we have been approved to have our Holiday Concert! Considering the current stage of the pandemic are having to make some changes in order to ensure safety.

They are…

  1. The concert will be moved from December 3rd to December 10th (still at 7p).
  2. The concert will be held in the Coventry High School Gym.
  3. All performers are limited to TWO audience members.

After school rehearsals will begin next week. Concert Band will rehearse on: Tuesday 11/17 and Tuesday 12/1. Symphonic Winds will rehearse on: Thursday 11/19 and Thursday 12/3. Rehearsals will be from 3p – 4:15p in the band room.

Our dress rehearsals are being moved from December 1st to December 8th. Concert Band: 3p – 4:30p. Symphonic Winds: 5p – 6:30p.

Due to the major reduction in rehearsal times, we will be reducing our concert program to three songs per ensemble. Concert Band will play: From the Realms of Glory, Christmas Rondo, and Dark Ride. Symphonic Winds will play: A Christmas Festival, Ascension, and A Christmas Tale: Beware the Krampus. Please spend your at home practice time working on these selections. As mentioned, rehearsals are largely impacted by the online learning. With that being said, PLEASE put in practice time at home. DO NOT come to rehearsal ill-prepared. Some of you have contacted me about your instruments still being at the school. If you would like to pick those up throughout the day, please contact me so we can make arrangements. This weekend would be a great time to get a head start on preparation for next week’s rehearsals.

I apologize for changes and any inconvenience this causes. Please adjust calendars as needed. If you have any major conflicts and cannot attend any of the rehearsals or concert, notify Mr. Welker immediately. Thank you for your flexibility and a special thanks to our district administration for allowing this concert and our rehearsals to still happen!
